New report available -- Reducing the Crash Risk for Young Drivers

"Reducing the Crash Risk for Young Drivers." is the title of a new report that the Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF) has prepared for the AAA Foundation
The report, authored by Dan Mayhew, Herb Simpson, Deanna Singhal, and Katherine Desmond, examined why young drivers continue to crash, even when they are protected by an effective Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) system.
The report discusses how GDL can be improved, how compliance with GDL conditions can be increased, and how teen driver crashes can be reduced by other complementary prevention measures, including driver education and parental management of teen driving.
Funding for this research was provided by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.
